New Oral Surgery PBAs

Trainees in Oral Surgery can now use the following new PBAs. These have been introduced to coincide with the implementation of the new Oral Surgery curriculum. Trainees completing their training on the previous (2014) curriculum should continue to use the PBAs outlined in the 2014 curriculum.

  • Closed Exposure of impacted / ectopic tooth (with chain)
  • Enucleation of Mandibular cyst
  • Enucleation of Maxillary cyst
  • Marsupialisation
  • Open Exposure of impacted / ectopic tooth
  • Removal of impacted supernumerary or premolar or canine
  • Surgical removal of Mandibular Distoangular wisdom tooth
  • Surgical removal of Mandibular Horizontal wisdom tooth
  • Surgical removal of Mandibular Mesioangular wisdom tooth
  • Surgical Removal of Maxillary wisdom tooth (must involve flap, bone removal and tooth sectioning)

The following PBAs are only applicable to trainees on the 2014 curriculum:

  • Impacted wisdom tooth
  • Exposure of ectopic tooth
  • Management of mandibular cyst
  • Management of maxillary cyst
